Debinding of metals (feedstock)

Before metal powder injection moulding, fine metal powders and thermoplastic polymer resin are mixed to form a so-called feedstock. After moulding, these polymers are thermally or catalytically removed from the green compact during debinding. The result is the brown compact. If debinding is carried out in an oxygen-free gas atmosphere, post-treatment of the furnace waste gas is necessary.

Process management decisive

The debinding process for metallic materials usually takes place in controlled atmospheres and results in the complete removal of the polymeric components. Correct process control is crucial to avoid cracks, pores and deformations. Defined process gases prevent unwanted or favour desired chemical reactions during the debinding process.

Debinding oven from IBT for your process

The debinding furnaces from IBT.Thermprocess cover these debinding processes with a high degree of flexibility. We would be happy to check whether you can also carry out the sintering process with our debinding furnaces.
