Ulrich Strohbeck from the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology and Automisation IPA Stuttgart sees STIR® as an energy efficient technology for the powder coating.

'The big advantages of powder coating are available more and more for major projects. But the development continues. The experts of the Fraunhofer IPA see development trends regarding the energy efficiency. This involves the reduction of the baking temperature , for instance with low temperature and UV-hardening powder coatings. The energy efficient infrared emitter technology, e. g. STIR©, also offers a big potential for the faster gelling of the material.', says Ulrich Strohbeck in 'besser lackieren!' nr. 04 from 4 March 2011.

The STIR® emitters already have been tested successfully for various applications of coating processes at the Institute IPA.
