Continuous flow system for the heat treatment of carpet fibers

For the heat treatment of carpet fibers 2 pieces STIR® infrared quartz heating elements with a length of 2400 mm and a single output of 4400 watts were combined into one module. These have been integrated as part of production step into an injection system. Rear reflectors lead to the increase the energy efficiency through a reduction of energy losses. The IR heaters module is variably adjustable in height across the carpet.

The position of the required product temperature and the regulation according the ACTUAL temperature of the material are possible by the control. The measurement of the fiber temperature occurs contactless via a pyrometer. In case of failure or via stop of the infeed will switched to a base load. Also, a safety shutdown occurs when a predetermined limit temperature is reached.
